Strategies to Improve Reading; So We Can Get to the Math!

Reading abilities are a common obstacle among teachers in the math classroom, especially with a student-centered, problem-based curriculum. We find that students who are reading below grade level often get lost in the context of a problem, resulting in barriers using problem-solving skills. In this session, I will present reading strategies for the math classroom with the goal to help students be successful thinkers and problem solvers.
